System Introduction
The RDM-9140 distribution line fault location system adopts digital fault indicators and digital wireless communication technology, mainly used in medium and high voltage transmission and distribution lines. It can detect short circuits and grounding faults and indicate them. It can monitor the operation of the line and transformer (high voltage side, low voltage side), and can remotely control (close/open) and remotely signal (collect switch positions) the two electric switches installed on the same pole.
The system can help power operators understand in real time the changes in current (load current/short-circuit action current, transient grounding current/grounding action current, cable steady-state zero sequence current/steady-state zero sequence action current/transient zero sequence current), line voltage, and cable head temperature at various monitoring points on the line, in case of faults such as short circuit, grounding, disconnection, insulation drop, and overheating.

System functions
●Monitor faults such as short circuit, grounding, overload, disconnection, power outage, three-phase imbalance, theft cutting, and overheating on the monitoring line to help operators quickly locate the fault point and avoid further escalation of the accident.
●Monitor line load current/short-circuit action current, save historical data and draw curves for accident analysis and pre warning.
●Monitor the transient grounding current and grounding action current, steady-state zero sequence current, and transient zero sequence peak current (cable) of the line, save historical data and draw curves for accident analysis and pre warning.
●Monitor the overhead line to ground voltage, cable head to ground voltage, and cable head temperature, save historical data and draw curves for accident analysis and pre warning.
●In places with knife switches and switches, the position of the switches can be monitored. No need to modify the switch, no need to power off.
●In places with electric switches, in addition to monitoring the switch position, remote control operation can also be achieved. No need to install PT and CT, no need for power outage.
System Features
●Breaking through the principles of ordinary indicator technology in simulation and traditional FTU standards. No need for PT and CT, no need for switches or switch modifications, equipotential and uninterrupted installation, wide applicability, high input-output ratio, and reliable operation.
●The device operates with extremely low power consumption and has a long service life. The digital fault indicator is self powered from the wire and backed up with a long-life lithium battery, permanently maintenance free; The data collector is powered by solar energy (overhead) or open CT (cable), and can be equipped with high-capacity lead-acid or lithium batteries. It should be replaced 3-5 times.
●Short circuit fault detection method using digital signal quantization. It can monitor the load current, short-circuit fault current, and line voltage of each monitoring point on the line and report them to the main station system in real time. It can also adjust the short-circuit fault detection parameters online, greatly improving the accuracy of short-circuit fault detection.
●Adopting a digital signal quantification method for ground fault detection. For low current grounding systems, the transient grounding current, grounding fault current, and line voltage at each monitoring point of the line can be monitored and reported in real time to the main station system, and the grounding fault detection parameters can be adjusted online, greatly improving the accuracy of grounding fault detection.
●Multiple network channels. Local communication adopts wireless frequency modulation networking (64 channel automatic frequency hopping), while remote communication adopts GPRS/CDMA/3G network communication, making local and remote maintenance convenient.
●Installation and debugging are simple. The digital fault indicator and data collector are easy to install, can be installed and disassembled without power outage, and can be debugged locally or remotely wirelessly.
●The main station has the economical and practical "four remote" function. The main station software can perform "four remote" operations (remote control, remote signaling, remote telemetry, remote adjustment [parameter reading and writing]) on the digital fault indicators and data collectors on site. Real time monitoring of line load current and short-circuit action current, transient grounding current and grounding action current, zero sequence current and zero sequence peak current (in cable applications), overhead line or cable head to ground voltage, overhead line or cable head temperature, with WEB browsing and GIS interface.
